such a time as this

Last year, I made a “2020 yearbook” post to document my version of one of the most pivotal years of our lives thus far. That post happened to get me a job as a Digital Media Director at a creative agency, called Goldmill Co. I still need to pinch myself every once in a while bc IG really helped me get my dream job!!! But I digress -

It’s been exactly a year since I’ve made that post - which opened with “it won’t be like this forever.” Cue 2021 & things stayed the same - Still in a pandemic & still growing our mask collections. & yet. so much has changed. Granted this year was full of insane milestones for me - a new job, a house, a FIANCÉ (ily Joel Moisa!) but beyond that -

I’ve seen answered prayers, greater empathy, acts of love, richer conversation, slower paces, solutions, resilience, fresh creativity in a world that says there’s nothing that hasn’t already been done, people uniting in mourning, uniting for change, & uniting in celebration in a time where divisiveness is *the* common thread. In the cracks & uncertainty of this broken world, I’ve seen the hands of a loving & kind God at work.

“it won’t be like this forever”… because although we can’t control the things that happen (or the things that remain), we still get choices & can spur change. We are appointed. Here for such a time as this. Each of us called to be bearers of Light. (Which is v full-circle of me to say cuz Goldmill’s tagline is shine.)
